dated someone for 8 months before realising they'd never once asked me a single question about myself
am i overreacting?
be the first to weigh in
am i overreacting?
be the first to weigh in
to clap back.
8 months is a long time to be invisible
the ones who don't ask are the ones who aren't curious about anyone but themselves. it doesn't change.
I've started noticing this in new friendships too. some people are just collectors of listeners.
you weren't in a relationship you were in an audience
someone once asked me 'how are you?' and then interrupted my answer to talk about themselves. that was the last time we spoke.
people who cancel plans the day of, every single time, are people who don't respect your time
my sister has been 'between jobs' for 3 years. she just bought a new TV.
my brother borrowed my car 'for an hour' three days ago
the friend who only texts when they need something. no other times.
this is a real thing and it's wild how long you can miss it when you're in it
